The MDLD 100K is a low key self supported running celebration and picnic. To maintain that spirit, it is limited to 25 adventurers. The 2012 edition will take place on Saturday June 23.

The Challenge was conceived of by Dawgs Hunt Bartine and Pawl Melzer. Back in 2006 they did a two day test run of this scenic part of the Mason-Dixon Trail, overnighting on trail at Muddy Creek. Based on their 19 hour total running time, they decided it feasible to establish the run as a sunrise-to-sunset challenge. The Challenge has been held since 2007, with varying rates of successes for the runners. Besides a tough trail, participants have faced varying and unpredictable weather condition, from picture-perfect dry 70 degree days to hot humid thunderstorming conditions. To date since 2006 only a few dozen have completed the full distance and a handful have completed in official daylight.

Though the race is full, Dawgs and friends are welcome to come join us at our picnic spots to cheer these crazy runners!
